It's Been Awhile

I completely forgot I had this damn page until now. May have been a good thing. I've progressed light years in knowledge and skill since I started this blog. I wish I could figure out how to have the slide show go through my piercing pictures, but alas, I'm basically technologically illiterate. No way I'm going to figure out how to do that, but if you're reading this and would like to see my work, It's all under the Raising the Bar FB link on the left hand side of the page. Other than that, make sure to check out the links to the right. The top one is another blog I help write, along with a couple of my colleagues. The others consist of various social media sites I have an active account on.

Just a little bit of an update since the last time I was on. The day after Christmas in 2012, I moved with my girlfriend of the time to Las Vegas to work at Quick Draw Tattoo. I got to attend the APP's annual conference and learned more than I could have ever hoped to. I got to talk face to face with my colleagues who I only usually get to chat with online.

Now that I'm back in Mt. Pleasant, I'm back to piercing at Sinister Productions. We have completely upgraded the entire piercing side of the shop and now strictly use implant grade materials for jewelry and the best of the best of industry supplies. You won't find any higher quality piercing services in the Central Michigan area! So stop on in, get a new piercing, some new jewelry, or just come keep me company.

Holiday Season

Just got back into work today after a lengthy weekend of boarding and spending all my money. Being a piercer during the holiday season sucks. We work during the best part of the day, don't get out til late, and no one even comes in during this time to get pierced! Everyone's out spending their money on presents and shit. So while everyone else is busy spending their money and getting cool shit, we're stuck here not making ANY money. So next time your out Christmas shopping and thinking about that new piercing, DO IT! Your local piercer will GREATLY appreciate it. Especially if it's me :)

First things first

Obviously, you may need to know about some healing procedures for your new piercings or even some regular maintenance info for your healed ones, So I'll put those up here right away.
For any healing oral piercings: http://www.safepiercing.org/publications/brochures/oral-aftercare/
Body aftercare: http://www.safepiercing.org/publications/brochures/body-aftercare/
And for anyone who has labret (lip) or cheek piercings, you'll want to read up on both. Now, for healed piercings, there are a TON of different ways you can keep them nice and spiffy. I personally like Emu Oil. It's kind of hard to locate, but worth it. All you need is a small drop of it. Gently rub it around the entrance of your piercing. Some people even use it on oral piercings, which is completely fine. Contradictory to it's name, it does not taste like a big dead bird. It actually has almost no taste to it whatsoever.

Go easy on me

This is the first time I've ever done anything like this and I didn't even really know what blogging was before today! I got tired of people always posting on my fb wall about piercings and such, so I decided to create this. Hopefully once I figure this out, I'll have my whole portfolio on here also. My name is Kelli Zeien and I am a professional piercer at Sinister Productions Tattoo in Mt. Pleasant, MI, so don't think I'm just a Bod Mod enthusiast blowing smoke. I'm pretty good at what I do.
